Five people were killed by a Russian guided bomb in the town of Kostyaninivka in eastern Ukraine, near the front line, the National Police said today.
Police said in a statement on Telegram that the strike occurred around 10 a.m. (local and Greek time), killing two women and three men and damaging four apartment buildings.
Russian forces have approached the city at a distance of about 8-10 kilometers, according to the website DeepState, which is documenting developments on the battlefield.
Kyiv has received the bodies of 1,000 soldiers from Moscow
Ukraine received the remains of 1,000 Ukrainian servicemen killed in the war that began with Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022 during the latest exchange with Russia, Ukrainian officials said today.
More than 7,000 dead, most unidentified, have been handed over to Ukraine in recent months during multiple exchanges that were the result of talks between the two sides in Istanbul earlier this year.
In a statement, Ukraine’s Coordinating Council for Prisoners of War said officials would work to identify the dead.
