Back in 2022, the European Union took the step of classifying gas and nuclear power as ‘climate friendly’, in recognition of their key role in advancing the goal of energy decarbonisation. Greece is now showing signs of being the latest in a string of countries to contemplate embracing nuclear energy.
Despite some mutterings of resistance, there are signs that public attitudes towards nuclear energy are shifting. Yet the country has very limited experience of all things nuclear, hence any shift to nuclear energy will not be an easy process, as our analysis explains.
