Kinds of Kindness preview screening
Yorgos Lanthimos’ and Emma Stone’s new film collab Kinds Of Kindness screens at Festival Darling Preview two weeks before its release. The Astor Theatre will also do a special 35mm screening of Kinds of kindness on the official release date, July 11.
After taking this past awards season by storm with critical and box office success Poor Things, Lanthimos re-teams with his top 2023 black comedy stars in this new absurdist anthology triptych film. Its recent premiere at the Cannes Film Festival also saw undisputed auteur’s favourite Jesse Plemons take home the prestigious Best Actor for his exceptional turn.
Joining Stone, Dafoe, Qualley and Plemons are Joe Alwyn, Hong Chau, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer. With filmmaking techniques reminiscent of his earlier works, the director delves into three transgressive and bizarre scenarios, each filled with surreal twists and turns that are sure to leave audiences feeling strangely exhilarated.

George Kapiniaris & Tahir: Comedy Night – Dinner and Show
The comedy festival season may be over, but the laughs must continue when two Australian comedy legends, George Kapiniaris and Tahir Bilgiç, team up for a show in Frankston.
The Greco-Turkish comedic duo share the spotlight for a performance that the audience will remember.
Kapiniaris launched his career in the 1980s in the ground-breaking ‘Wogs out of Work’ stage, then as Memo in the TV series ‘Acropolis Now’, he was in the long-running TV series, Flying Doctors, and has been in many films.
Tahir carved out a sterling stand-up comedy career with his live shows, ‘Lord of The Kebabs and ‘Straight Outta Compo’ then became a staple in ‘Fat Pizza’, ‘Swift and Shift’ ‘Couriers’ and ‘Housos’, as well as his roles in three feature films.
The evening will start with a two-course dinner in a banquet-style setting, providing the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the show from the comfort of your table.

Dr Stephie Nikoloudis, primarily a lecturer & coordinator of Greek Studies at La Trobe University, and oversees many progressive initiatives concerning the history of the Diaspora in Australia, and programs advancing Greek language, education & relevant services to all generations.
Denise Diakodimitriou, the Chair of PHAROS, an organisation focused on the continuation of Greek language studies in Australia, and the representative of the Modern Greek Teachers Association of Victoria.
Professor Vasso Apostolopoulos, a world-renowned researcher who has been recognised with over 100 awards including the Premier’s Award for Medical Research, Young Australian of the Year (Vic), Greek Australian of the Year, Woman of the Year.
She was named one of the most successful Greeks abroad by Times magazine. Vasso was the first to develop a method of immunotherapy to stimulate the immune system in the early 1990s, which today is used by hundreds of labs around the world.

Sinefiansemni Kiriaki – Tsitsanis and Bellou Legacy Concert
Are you a fan of rebetiko music, the urban folk genre that emerged in Greece in the early 20th century? If so, you won’t want to miss this tribute show dedicated to two of the most influential rebetiko artists of all time: Vasilis Tsitsanis and Sotiria Bellou.
The tribute show will feature a live band of talented musicians who will perform some of the most beloved songs of Tsitsanis and Bellou, as well as other rebetiko classics.
