World’s most powerful passports revealed – Which place does Cyprus hold?

Singapore has claimed the top spot in the 2025 Henley Passport Index, offering its holders visa-free access to 193 destinations, according to the latest rankings published by the index.
The annual study, which tracks 199 passports across 227 destinations, ranks countries based on the number of destinations their passport holders can visit without requiring a visa.
Japan and South Korea tied for second place, with both nations’ passports providing visa-free travel to 190 countries.
Cyprus improved its position by two places to 12th, up from 14th in the previous year. Cypriot passport holders can now access 178 countries without a visa and 48 countries with visa requirements.

Seven European nations shared third place: Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Spain.
Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Sweden occupied the fourth position collectively.
Greece, New Zealand and Switzerland tied for fifth place in the rankings.
India recorded the largest global improvement, climbing eight positions to 77th place. Indian citizens can now travel to 59 countries without requiring a visa.
The index measures passport strength based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association, providing a comprehensive assessment of global mobility and travel freedom.
