Financial technology company XM Group has secured the top position in the Great Place to Work Cyprus 2025 Best Workplaces list for large companies, marking its fourth consecutive year of recognition. The company, which employs over 1,500 people globally, attributes its workplace distinction to what it describes as a “people-centric culture” and comprehensive employee development programs.
The fintech firm also ranks third on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For Europe list and holds the top position among Best Workplaces Greece 2025 in the large companies category.
In an interview with Forbes Cyprus, Maria Hadjipanteli, XM’s Chief People & Culture Officer, says that the company operates under a “Big. Fair. Human.” philosophy that emphasises employee well-being, professional development, and inclusive workplace practices across its international operations.

What does the “Great Place to Work – Cyprus 2025” recognition mean to you, and what elements do you believe make XM stand out as an employer compared to other companies in the sector?
We proudly accept our recognition as the top workplace in Cyprus for 2025, according to the Best Workplaces™ 2025 list, in the category of large companies. For the 4th consecutive year, we are honored for our deeply people-centric culture, which ensures that employees across the XM Group—regardless of location, generation, gender, or position—enjoy an innovative, inclusive, supportive, and team-oriented working environment. We are well aware that what has set us apart for the past 15 years is the work and dedication of our people. This is a reciprocal relationship—with the unwavering values of Big. Fair. Human., our organization rewards, in a tangible and consistent way, the energy, time, and thought that our people invest in XM. These are the very elements that have made XM one of the fastest-growing forces in the global fintech sector and a magnet for top talent in the field.
What is your philosophy regarding the work environment, and how do you invest in the welfare and professional development of your employees?
We firmly understand that whatever benefits our people’s ecosystem also benefits the organisation as a whole. And because we strongly believe that every successful professional is, above all, a mentally and physically healthy and well-balanced individual, we have developed a multi-level and dynamic program that takes a holistic approach—on one hand, to professional growth and advancement, and on the other, to personal well-being and health. By actively living our Big. Fair. Human. philosophy, we respond swiftly to the needs of the times and of our people. As a result, we have shaped a strong Employee Value Proposition (EVP)—an attractive value offering that continues to earn top distinctions and serves as a powerful incentive for talented professionals.

What do you consider to be the biggest challenges in human resources today, and how does XM address them, particularly in an international, competitive, and technologically evolving environment?
At a time when employee turnover is a real challenge, at XM we have managed not only to retain our talent but also to continuously grow our workforce across all functions. Being ranked among the best employers in the country and in Europe is an honor, but it also comes with a responsibility. Holding a top position is an ongoing effort and a daily challenge—one that must reflect the reality of our organization. Our commitment to every XMer is to never stop listening, innovating, and evolving—implementing modern practices and programs that provide them with all the motivation, tools, and flexibility they need to fully develop their talents and potential, while also setting the standard for the competition.

How many employees does XM currently employ in Cyprus and internationally, and what are the key programs, benefits, or policies you implement to ensure high levels of employee satisfaction and retention?
We are now a team of over 1,500 individuals—each bringing unique traits, experiences, and perspectives, all driven by a common passion for what we do. Our foremost priority for these people has always been—and will continue to be—to tangibly ensure a working environment that stands by them and actively supports their continuous development. We follow a unified and holistic HR strategy, with education as a key pillar. Within this framework, we offer innovative development programs aligned with the latest trends, including seminars, tech meet-ups, and gamified experiences in collaboration with major tech players like AWS. We also run pioneering internship and training programs for final-year university students and industry professionals who want to strengthen their expertise in areas such as Cloud DevOps. Equally important pillars of our strategy include well-being, meaningful inclusion, and rewarding our people—put into practice through flexible, hybrid work models, programs that promote physical fitness and healthy nutrition, special benefits for families, competitive compensation packages, mentoring and coaching initiatives across all organizational levels, and regular culture surveys to keep a finger on the pulse of our people and their needs. Moreover, we are among the few organizations in our field to demonstrate high levels of female representation in managerial and C-level roles—something that ideally shouldn’t be considered an achievement, yet “glass ceilings” persist significantly in the tech sector.
What is the next step for XM in terms of corporate culture, and what innovations are you planning to maintain your position among the top employers in Cyprus?
The challenge of maintaining a leading position comes down to a straightforward but fundamental truth: the empowerment and well-being of our people are not just factors in XM’s success—they are its core. Our vision is to continue pioneering, actively shaping market trends and workplace wellbeing, with the primary goal of adding value to the lives of our people and the experience of our customers. Each year, the results of the Great Place to Work evaluation survey officially affirm our efforts—and ultimately our success: we rank 3rd on the “Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For™ in Europe” list in the large companies category, and we also secured the top spot among Best Workplaces™ Greece for 2025 in the corresponding category.
